Stern Building

March 06, 2005

Stern Building Retrofit of 50 year old heating and air conditioning system. This was a Crown Heating and Air Conditioning design and build project. Crown removed the old roof top cooling tower and compressors. A structural engineer was hired to do the calculations to meet City of Los Angeles building and mechanical codes.

We had steel I beams installed on the roof top for seismic supports. The condensers where installed atop this and refrigeration lines where ran to the air handler. New system was up and running in a few days. The Management of the building has commented on the SAVINGS they now have since we installed the units. We continue to maintain the equipment in the building and have used it on occasion to show other management companies who want to update there buildings.
